AusCycling has launched a new development academy program aimed at providing a supporting step for young rider progression across all cycling disciplines.

AusCycling and Darwin Cycling Club are delighted to announce the return of the Sunbuild Top End Gran Fondo on Sunday, July 24, 2022.  The event has become an icon of the cycling scene in the Northern Territory and includes participation options to suit any rider and ability level.  

Now in its 11th year, the event is the Darwin Cycling Club’s largest and drew nearly 700 riders to the Top End in 2021.  

Climbing Willunga Hill for the final time with numbers pinned on his back, Richie Porte rightfully allowed himself the brief opportunity to soak in the moment during Saturday’s Santos Festival of Cycling (TDU Festival) finale. 

It was not a fairy tale finish for the king of Willunga Hill, Richie Porte, but he managed to sign off in style on an emotional Saturday for the Tasmanian.

More than 550 riders pushed themselves to the limit around the new Sam Willoughby International BMX (SWBMX) facility on Sunday with local Matt Tidswell taking out the men’s superclass and Teya Rufus the women’s in just her second appearance in superclass. 

185 riders competed for age group national titles as the 2021 championships were finally held after COVID delays.
